Metachem is an intercalated natural graphite product used in the manufacture of graphite foil. Carbofoil is expanded to it's full volume by heating at 1200ºC - 1300ºC in a furnace. After cooling it forms fluffy, worm type material, it is later pressed to produce a foil of any desired shape. Because of it's inert and non toxic nature and high melting points it can be used in gaskets and seals for petrochemicals, chemical process pumps and high temperature thermic fluid boilers.
It is an alternative to Asbestos sheet traditionally used to produce gasket materials but now banned in many countries. It can also be used to manufacture carbon / carbon moulded components.

Flame Retardant is a flame retardant additive based on natural graphite for Polyurethane and Latex foam. It is also used for coating materials such as rubber, polystyrene, wood, textile and paper.
CARBOFOIL complies with BS 5852 source 5 and source 7
ADVANTAGES:
- Little or no change in the existing manufacturing process.
- Non-toxic and non-hazardous.
- Eliminates toxic gas emissions from burning base material.
- Prevents base material from dripping during burning.
- Does not change characteristics of the base product eg. Flexibility and durability of foam remains unchanged.

Expandable Graphite is material based on natural graphite with excellent insulating properties. When heated to 900ºC it expands several times, depending on the grades used. It is extremely effective when used with normal exothermic or insulating type anti-piping compounds, casting powders and bottom poured teeming compounds.
ADVANTAGES
- Prolongs the liquid state of metal, thus avoiding shrinkage.
- An addition of 1 to 10 % of Carbofoil Expandable Graphite increases effectiveness, thus reducing the volume of other materials used by up to 50%.
- Gives a very soft crust and a soft shrinkage pattern.
