Expandable Graphite is a single non-halogenated, eco-friendly and cost-effective flame-retardant additive used in applications such as Polyurethane Foam, Latex Foam, Rubber, Polymers, Sealants and Coatings.
FLAKE GRAPHITE, A CARBON ALLOTROPE, IS A CRITICAL RESOURCE USED IN OVER 150 APPLICATIONS IN DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES AND CONSUMER GOODS.
Flake graphite has a distinct set of qualities due to its molecular structure, making it a vital material for a variety of applications:
A crystalline form of Carbon
A solid state lubricant
Once intercalated expands many-fold at onset temperature
Only non-metallic conductor
Sustains temperatures of >3000*c
Graphene is an atom layer of flake graphite
Given these molecular characteristics, flake graphite is a material with a unique set of properties, making it the preferred and mostly non-replaceable choice in various industries, products and applications. Though it is non-metal, it has the unique properties of both metal and non-metal.
Being a novel material with this exclusive microstructure, flake graphite exhibits the following properties:
There are two types of flake graphite applications:
1. Primary – Particle size graded normal purity range goods – These are industrial grades that are utilised as input material for downstream processing.
2. Downstream flake graphite goods that have been specially treated and are of high purity.
The flake size and purity of flake graphite are the two key criteria that determine the product type and final application. Because primary flake graphite is the input raw material for downstream specifically processed graphite, we separate applications based on the flake size used by the application.
